Ideas on what to carry in your planner

Greetings from California! It's me Florence from the planner team :) Happy Monday Funday to you all. I wanted to share with you a few ideas on what you can put in your planner pockets.

Simple ideas on what to carry in your pockets:
1. Stickers
2. Washi Tape Samples
3. Gift card to your favorite coffee shop (who doesn't like planning and drinking your favorite beverage?)
4. Paper clips
5. Marion Smith Date Seals
6. Sticky notes
7. Page Flags
8. Tags
9. To do lists
10. Ephemera or embellishment pieces

Although it does look pretty laid out, I also like to include things I'll actually use. I often change these maybe every month to a few times a month. Sometimes I leave my favorite items inside just because I can't part ways with it. What do you like to keep in your pockets??

Araceli from the Planner Team

Hello, Ara here. Today I wanted to share with you my current week in my Heart of Gold Planner (1st edition) using the weekly inserts which can be purchased: HERE. I use these inserts for "home stuff". Can you catch the little error at the top? lol.

Here is a little close up of the left side of the spread, I am a scrapbooker as well so I like to incorporate my sticker stash into my planner (no more hoarding). For the days of the week I used some washi tape. This side of the spread is a bit on the empty side for the time being, I have family coming over for the week and we have no idea what we have planned yet.

I love that the Heart of Gold Planner has pockets in the back as well. I like to stuff my pockets and guess what, it still closes shut! What I like to add to my pockets are planner clips/page markers/paperclips/notepad sheets/sticky notes/date seals and some decorations.

and lastly, my dashboard. I am constantly changing my dashboard and find that no matter what pattern I choose, it goes well with this planner.

If you would like to see more picture on how I use the Heart of Gold Planner check out my Instagram: click Here

Until Next time, Ara. =)

Layout with video tutorial by Yasmin Tölche

Hello everyone! It's Yasmin here at the Marion Smith Designs blog and I've made my first video tutorial for MSD! Soo excited! As you all know Marion Smith makes the most gorgeous paper and embellishment. Not to forget Colorlab witch is SO fun to work with! :) so today I have a layout to share with you.

I've used papers for the "Posh" Collection. I've also used Junque and gems and Marion's beautiful flowers that match the collection! She also has some flowers that's easy to color, like you want them with colorlab.

This is a picture of some of my family members. I do love them on that motorbike! So awesome. I did loooads of stamping, gesso's and colorlab on this. I work loads on my background this time. I've fuzzy cut all the paper from the Posh collection and added the die-cuts to my page. If you'd like to see how I made this layout, please take a look at my tutorial video down below. :)

The colors I used in this video is Tea Stain, the recipe is in the booklet you get when you buy colorlab. I also used a color I call dirty pink witch I made myself. I took basis of one of the pink recepies you get and added a bit of brown. :)

Look at that beautiful flower! The birds nest is a junque and gem from MSD, also the large Rhinestone. Gorgeous! :) The stamps used are mainly from Marion Smith Designs. Go check out all their products here.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Sandi's "Gangsta Joy" layout!

Hello, there!
Sandi here with you today sharing a layout … although a different kind for me. I had this funky photo of my daughter, her hubby and friends from a day they were riding their motorcycles and thought it would fun to scrap. Something different from the pretty or vintage that I usually do.  I didn't totally let loose .. I thought a mix of feminine and grunge would be fun!

I've use the Time Keeper Marchant as my base and added Time Keeper Exploratorium, Time Keeper Carnival and Romance Novel Chapter 2 My Type for layers. I prepped my background with clear gesso, did some mixed media work and began building my layers. I love using lots of layers! At first, I was going for a monotone look but decided the pop of hot pink would really add some zest! You know me, always have to add some color! Lots of fun embellies on this one, too!

Here are some close-ups:

That's it from me today!
See .. you can use your products in unexpected ways!
Try it, it's fun!

Marion Smith Products used:
Time Keeper Marchant
Time Keeper Exploratorium
Time Keeper Carnival
Romance Novel Chapter 2 My Type

heart of gold planner for travel planning

happy Monday everyone! this is Lindsay writing again, and I can't wait to share my new planning style with you. being someone who uses multiple planners at once,  I have decided to dedicate this heart of gold planner to all things France related. At the end of August I will be traveling to France for a school exchange. I will be living there for four months! naturally, this kind of extended trip requires a lot of planning, and thankfully I consider myself to be a very good planner.

first of all, Marion was sweet enough to send me this beautiful dashboard. I decorated it with a journaling card and some washi tape.

I am keeping some pretty bits of stationery in the pockets for planning on the go.

One of my friends sent me some countdown stickers that are Paris themed.

I have placed one of the count down stickers on every day in my planner!

because this cute planner comes with so many different dividers, I was able to use two sets of inserts. the inserts with my countdown stickers are from a friend on Instagram, and I am using the marionsmithdesigns inserts for notes and finance related France things!

this is how I started the weekly insert. I used sticker letters to write July, and I filled in the 7 colours tabs with Monday - Sunday.

then I added washi tape and stickers, as well as my notes!

happy planning, xo

A Sweet Week in my Heart of Gold Planner

Happy Monday everyone!  Theresa here from the Creative Planner team.   This last few week I've seen a lot of sweet treats pop up on Marion's Instagram and YouTube accounts and I couldn't help but make last week's layout in my Heart of Gold Planner a sweets theme!

I decorated my pages with some fun, cute and bright donut stickers!

I also added some sweet charms to my planner.  The macaroons and donut were made from Marion's polymer clay tutorials.  If you haven't seen them yet, go watch her tutorials!

I tracked my workouts and water intake on the bottom of this page, I love this little tracker!  Have a great week everyone!

Priceless Exploration

Hello all you lovelies!!!

Shanna here today for my turn of inspiration for you all.
I haven't done a layout yet using Marion Smith papers as I have been having so much fun altering things. (I have a mini coming up soon)!!!

I played with a sheet from the Junque Gypsy collection called Carte Blanche.

I got crazy with the color lab to color up some flowers I added with a stencil using modeling paste.
I just love the texture and shimmer!

I sprinkled some black india ink and some watered down gesso for splatter. I even added some micro glass beads for more texture.

I found this zipper embellishment in my stash of "lost things". I thought it fit on the flower perfectly and really defined this moment.

I really enjoyed making this layout to go in a frame to hang on the wall. The pop of color will really set the tone and add some flair.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shanna

Annie From the Planner Team

Hi everyone, it's Annie here! I wanted to share with you all how I've been using my amazing Heart of Gold planner.

Pockets are always a must for me, why? Because I LOVE to stock em full of cute goodies! When I stuff the pockets of my planners, it brings me joy every time I open up my planner. I usually stock the pockets with my favorite stamp set at the moment, note pads, stickers, and super cute clips. But do whatever works for YOU, stuff your pockets with what will be useful for you! There's no wrong way of doing this. So have fun with it!

Here's how I've used the weekly inserts in the planner. I used a roller date stamp to mark the dates on the inserts, from there I used stickers to help mark things down. For the tracking section, I used it for water, medicine, and vitamins. (:

And here's how I used this adorable floral sheet! I used the morning, afternoon, and evening section for crucial to-dos. I mostly use this sheet for list making or to-dos, the top section was used for my social media work. The great thing about this sheet is that it's completely customizable, you can use each section for whatever works for you. I used some embellishments to add some flair to the insert too.

I hope you'll all enjoy how I've been using this planner! The great thing about the inserts of the heart of gold planner is that most of the sheets already have a cute design. It's great for those who don't enjoy too many embellishments or decorating!

Have a wonderful week and I'll be back!
Xoxo
